About Easy Voter
Vote Kentucky!
Kentucky citizens now have a user-friendly website that contains basic voting information for both new and previous voters. Learn about the issues and who represents you. Learn how to vote and help others get involved.
The site is in response to the National Campaign for Political and Civic Engagement’s report entitled: Navigating the Vote: A Review of How State Voter Education Websites Address the Needs of Young Voters. The report examined how information is provided to voters via voter information websites.
In the 2006 report, Kentucky was graded a “B” for its voter information website, scoring higher than many other states. Kentucky faces a unique challenge with comprehensive websites because election responsibilities in Kentucky are divided among three agencies: The Office of the Secretary of State, The Kentucky State Board of Elections, and the Kentucky Registry of Election Finance. Under Secretary Grayson’s directive, this new site seeks to blend basic voting information from the agencies into a singular site by providing links to each agency’s responsibilities. Katie Demers, Student Chair, National Campaign for Political and Civic Engagement, personally review this site at Secretary Grayson’s request.
